SAINT-MORITZ CHURCH, AUGSBURG, GERMANY

Architect: john Pawson

The Church of St. Moritz (Moritzkirche) in Augsburg, Bavaria, is a historic Catholic church founded nearly 1,000 years ago. After centuries
of transformations and severe interior damage during the Second World War, it was rebuilt in a simplified post-war form.

Between 2008 and 2013, John Pawson redesigned the interior with a minimalist approach, creating a space defined b visual clarity, white
surfaces, and soft light. Using light Portuguese limestone and translucent onyx panels, he preserved key historical elements while shaping
a contemporary place of worship.
